Ousman Dembele has officially extended his contract at Barcelona. That way, the puzzle of his future at Barcelona, which was previously widely discussed, has now been answered.
As is known, Dembele was previously strongly linked with leaving soon because he had not extended his contract. The former Borussia Dortmund player had also hinted that he would leave Camp Nou.
However, Dembele has finally made a decision about his future by officially staying. Barcelona gave a contract until 2024, which means the player will again be an important part of the Blaugrana attack line – Barcelona’s nickname.
“FC Barcelona and the player Ousmane Dembele have reached an agreement for a contract until June 30, 2024,” Barcelona said in a statement on its official website, Thursday (14/7/2022).
Dembele is one of the Barcelona players who is often in the spotlight. Since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, Dembele has only recorded 32 goals and 34 assists from a total of 150 games with the Blaugrana.
The reason, Dembele is a glass-footed player. The 25-year-old player was in the spotlight after suffering from continuous injuries, making it difficult to show his best abilities.
Even last season, Dembele was only able to score one goal in 21 matches with Barcelona in the Spanish League. Of course, by extending his contract, Dembele is expected to return to being an important part of Barcelona.
