Jose Luis Chilavert has revealed that he expects to see Barcelona star Lionel Messi and his team-mates to win for a crown by winning the 2018 World Cup in Russia for Argentina.
Argentina are travailing on their place at next World Cup tournament, but the Paraguay legendary goalkeeper Chilavert believes Messi will get another shot at the crown for his country.
Messi helped Argentina to the final in 2010, but he failed to win the World Cup champion after Germany beat Argentina 4-0 at Cape Town Stadium, in South Africa.
Speaking to National News in an interview, Chilavert admitted that he’s one of Messi fans in the world and expects to see the star in Russia.
“I want Argentina to go the final and win. Why? For Messi. I am a fanatic of Messi. He comes from another planet, while Cristiano and Neymar are on earth. That’s the difference.” Chilavert told.
“The day that Messi will stop football, we will cry. It will happen thousands of years before we see a player like him in the future.
“Argentina is more difficult without Messi, and although they have many excellent players like Aguero, Di Maria, Higuan, and Dybala, they are not like Messi and can decide the game.”
“I have the technique to stop it: the remote control. When he runs, he must make a freezeframe. No, there is no way to stop it. It’s impossible with him. He is fast and smart.
“And sees the game perfectly, when he moves forward, Messi already knows if the goalkeeper comes to meet him, if he brakes his race, where are his partners.” Chilavert added.

“Romero is well-deserved Argentina’s top goalkeeper, he has always been very confident, though he is Manchester United but he is still the best player in Argentina.” Chilavert told.
“I really like Geronimo and I really like Guzman, but they are not as good as Romero and there is no better than Romero in Argentina.” he added.
Chilavert finally retired permanently in 2004, he had a banned six-month prison sentence in France for the use fake documents linked to the compensation for the end of his contract with a French football club Strasbourg in 2005.
