Liverpool’s collaboration with Divock Origi seems to be ending in the 2022 summer transfer market. Origi, who has said goodbye to Liverpool fans, is then rumoured to be in AC Milan’s uniform soon.
As is known, Origi’s contract with Liverpool expires this summer. The Belgian player will not renew his contract and will part with Liverpool after seven years of service.
Leaving the club that has raised his name is not without reason. He chose it because Origi was rarely the first choice in Jurgen Klopp’s front lines.
That’s what made the 27-year-old player choose to say goodbye. Origi will try to overcome new challenges with his new team later.
“The journey with Liverpool has been very special. YNWA,” Origi wrote on his Instagram account, Wednesday (1/6/2022).
With Liverpool, Origi appeared 175 times by collecting 41 goals and 18 assists. The 27-year-old was one of the players who brought Liverpool to an end their 30-year Premier League title drought.
Origi’s most iconic action was when he brought Liverpool an impressive comeback against Barcelona in the 2018-2019 Champions League semi finals. The former Wolfsburg bomber scored the winning goal and Liverpool advanced to the final and won the season.
Origi also scored the game-killing goal when Liverpool hosted city rivals Everton on April 24, 2022 ago. The Reds-Liverpool’s nickname-gained full points after winning 2-0 in the match.
Furthermore, Origi is rumoured to have reached an agreement to join AC Milan. Reportedly, he will undergo medical tests this week, before finally moving. Milan itself is increasingly aggressive in bringing in new players.
This was done because Milan coach Stefano Pioli wants the squad to be stronger, considering the team will return to play in the Champions League next season.
