Paul Pogba said that Manchester United’s game was not at par with Liverpool. However, the French midfielder stressed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad game has developed rapidly.
Man United will face Liverpool in Week 18 of the 2020-2021 Premier League. The match will take place at the Reds headquarters, Anfield Stadium on Sunday 17 January 2021.
The Red Devils had a disappointing start to the Premier League this season. However, Pogba and colleagues’ play is getting better every week.
Man United have a neat record ahead of the match against Liverpool. Solskjaer’s troops have produced positive results, never losing in the last 11 matches.
Most recently, Man United managed to win narrowly against Burnley. Pogba’s single goal brought his team to three points and managed to displace Liverpool from the top of the Premier League standings.
Although Man United managed to occupy the top position, Pogba remained humble. He said that his team’s game was still under Jurgen Klopp’s men.
“We have developed rapidly, we continue to develop but we still have a very young team,” Pogba quoted Sky Sports as saying, Saturday (16/1/2021).
“Obviously we can’t say now we are at the same level as Liverpool because they won the Premier League and kept winning. So when we win, that’s when we say we’re at the same level. “
“If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. We want to beat the Premier League champions. “
“We know how well they have played over the last few years, we know their quality and the way they play. It’s always been a difficult game.”
“We know how difficult it is and we just have to focus and try to stay on top. I think we can win it if we stay focused but there are a lot of teams that can win it – we’re not there yet, we’re still very far away, “he concluded.
