French national team midfielder Paul Pogba has completed a turbulent 18-month ban from football for a doping violation, he will possibly be able to return to the football ground – and maybe play for Manchester United yet again.
Pogba at one point was banned from football activities for four years for doping after he tested positive for an unlawful substance.
However this ban was reduce to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) earlier this year after the panel found that he had ingesting the substance by accident.
Pogba came back to United in 2016 for £89m and spent six seasons at Old Trafford with two trophies; League Cup and Europa League.
Former Arsenal and France international Bacary Sagna has expected that such a transfer could happen as the Red Devils sign Ruben Amorim and build a new team after appointing a new manager instead of Erik ten Hag at United.
“It’s a different situation today at Manchester United to when Paul was previously there. United have a young coach, a coach that has been a player, a coach that understands the situation.” Sagna said.
“He will probably be willing to have a player like Paul at his training sessions. Amorim was a player himself, so I’m sure the coach will be open to seeing him getting back home because he loves United.” Sagna added.
Pogba spent six seasons at the club and was expected to leave United for Juventus in the summer of 2022, the club that he has had some brilliant moments for.
The closer return to United means, Pogba will join forces with both Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, players who have always been in perfect harmony with Pogba.
