In the last few matches of Manchester United, Paul Pogba has not started. According to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, it is only natural because Pogba is not a disciplined player.
Man United actually already has Bruno Fernandes who is positioned as an attacking midfielder and has the role of a playmaker. So far, Bruno Fernandes’ performance has been arguably satisfying and has made the Red Devils a better team than before.
According to Carragher, the problem for Man United is when Bruno Fernandes and Pogba play together. Because, the two players both want to attack, so the Red Devils have difficulty defending.
It was Pogba’s reluctance to survive that Carragher saw as undisciplined. In fact, Bruno Fernandes is the same. However, because the Portuguese midfielder gave more influence, it was ultimately Pogba who had to be left out of the starting XI.
Therefore, Carragher suggested Man United to sell Pogba. Because, Bruno Fernandes and Pogba cannot be put together to play together. Now, when faced with choosing one, of course Bruno Fernandes will be defended.
That is why, instead of being redundant because Pogba was not played, Carragher advised the Red Devils to release the French passport midfielder. Because Pogba’s salary is too high to only be a substitute player.
“Fernandes and Pogba were undisciplined. They are probably the two most undisciplined players in the Premier League. You might be able to bring one, but you can’t play both, “Carragher told Talk Sport, Wednesday (11/11/2020).
“I do not believe Pogba and Fernandes can play in the same team. Of course you have to play Fernandes and he has played very well since he joined,” continued Carragher.
Pogba himself has been linked with Real Madrid quite often in the last two seasons. However, the move failed because Man United did not want to let him go.
However, at this time the situation is a little different, Man United already have famous names in midfield. Apart from Bruno Fernandes, there are also Donny van de Beek and Juan Mata who have an attacking character.
