Chelsea forward Pedro Rodriguez has played in the Premier League just five times under the new boss Frank Lampard this season. Lampard, meanwhile he has put his faith in the club’s youth.
Speaking to reporters, Pedro has claims there are offers from top clubs in Spain or elsewhere. And he plans to leave the Blues in January.
“Yes there are offers, there are always clubs that are interested and that is a joy. Whether in Spain or elsewhere that is good news. Nobody knows what can happen. I still have years to play, but you’re thinking about what things are going on.” Pedro said.
“It’s been a hard and difficult time but I am calm because in the club they have always treated me in the best way, also the same with the fans and team-mates. You have to keep working to take advantage when you have opportunities.” Pedro added.
The Spaniard joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2015. He signed a one-year contract extension in August 2018 that runs until 2020. He has scored 1 goal in this campaign despite being a bit-part player.
“If Barcelona call me, I leave everything. This pre-season there was a possibility of returning that occurred when Chelsea faced Barcelona. I was talking to the coach, but the door closed quickly. Now I don’t know what will happen in the future.” Pedro said.
“I left Barcelona because I was brave. Neymar arrived and I played less. These things happen in football. Luis Enrique was always honest with me.”
“I was there to help. Not everyone was the same. How am I going to be better than Xavi? Or Messi? But they made you feel that way. They were very generous. When I assisted Leo, he came and said, ‘thank you and I thought, thank you for being so good’.” he added.
At Stamford Bridge, Pedro has won a Premier League, a FA Cup and a Europa League. He had scored 13 goals, eight of which came in the Premier League and the other five in the Europa League in last season.
