Barcelona are reportedly keen to bring Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar and Atletico Madrid Antoine Griezmann in this summer. The Blaugrana are preparing big money offer for both players.
The Spanish champion are being linked with star turns at Neymar and Griezmann, with a familiar face claiming that they should look to sign both. However, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admitted the two players are always welcome in any team.
“It all depends on the idea you have in mind with the sporting director and the coach. The good (players) are always welcome in any team.” Guardiola said.
“Neymar and Griezmann are very good.” Guardiola added.
Griezmann has scored 21 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances for Atletico last season. The French forward has long been a transfer target for Barcelona.
When asked on his thoughts about Neymar potentially completing a return to Camp Nou, Guardiola believes it won’t be the same as before, not for Barca and neither for the player.
Neymar joined PSG for a world-record €222 million last summer from Barcelona, but only arrived at Camp Nou 12 months after Guardiola had left the club in 2012.
The Brazilian forward will certainly add quality to Barca team but he won’t come cheaply being priced at between €200m and €300m ahead of summer transfer.
“I’m not going to say anything, it’s not my place. This is for Barcelona to answer. I spent a lot of time at this club and I don’t want any opinions to be misinterpreted.” Guardiola said.
“Neymar is an extraordinary player, but I do not know, it’s like me coming back to Barcelona, would it be the same? I’m not the same and I do not know if Neymar would be the same, but it’ll be a good move, nobody doubts it.” Guardiola added.
Meanwhile, Neymar has scored 17 goals and 7 assists in 20 appearances for PSG. He was out of the Copa America after suffering a right ankle injury a 2-0 win over Qatar last month.
