Petra Kvitova will meet Naomi Osaka of Japan in Saturday’s final after the Czech Republic beat American Danielle Collins 7-6, 6-0 on Thursday.
The eighth-seeded player will play in her first final in Melbourne, which reached the semi-finals in 2012, but then lost to the Russian Maria Sharapova.
The two players did not drop an inch in the first set, but Kvitova took the honors of the tie after breaking the tie after 62 minutes.
The second set was a lot more expeditious, while the Wimbledon champion in 2011 and 2014 only needed another 32 minutes to close the books.
“I didn’t know even if I (was) going to play tennis again,. It’s been a long journey. To be honest, I think not very many people believe that I can do that again, to stand on the court and play tennis and kind of play on this level.” Kvitova said
Collins can still leave the field Rod Wash her head up after an impressive course in this first Grand Slam of the season. The 35th racquet in the world took the place of Julia Gorges and Angelique Kerber to qualify in the square of aces.
In the other semifinal, Osaka had the best in three innings ahead of Karolina Pliskova at 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
The Japanese thus qualify for a second consecutive Grand Slam final, she defeated the American Serena Williams at the US Open last September to offer the title.

The fourth world racket won in the first round, offering no break points to her rival and making two chances in such a situation.
Osaka managed to break through in advance and she was good at closing the books in 1 hour and 53 minutes. She offered this second ticket with her 15th ace of the match and it was necessary to use the video recovery to confirm the triumph.
“I just told myself to regroup in the third set and just try as hard as I can. I was so scared serving second serves. I was like, ‘Oh, my God. Please! Somehow, I made it. I guess that’s experience.” Osaka said.
Pliskova will not have been able to make a comeback as in her quarterfinal match against Serena Williams. She trailed 5-1 in the third inning to finally win 7-5.
