Justin Thomas and his father Mike Thomas on Sunday didn’t flinch: they handed in a 57 card and won the 2020 PNC Championship, ahead of the Singh team.
The tandem was impressive with 15 birdies, even allowing themselves to beat the score of 58 given the day before, by the Kuchar team.
And then there were Charlie Woods and his father Tiger Woods, both wearing the traditional red Sunday polo shirts. The star duo, like the first round, carded a 62, allowing them to conclude the tournament at 7th rank.
After showing that he looked like his father for his sartorial side and for the quality of his momentum, Charlie showed that he also shared the same celebrations as Tiger.
After an eagle young Charlie eve, dad Woods worked, this time at 14 th hole. After a good tee shot from Charlie, Tiger took it upon himself to complete the hole and register another eagle.
“I don’t think words are enough to describe the experience. Being able to experience this together, Charlie and I are memories for our life,” Tiger said.
“Just making sure we had fun. I think he did. He enjoyed being out there. The fact we got off to such a quick start, him hitting some of those incredible shots.” he added.
In the case of the Kuchars, they lost momentum after a flawless first round. The -8 card they handed in was not enough to keep the two-stroke lead they had given themselves the day before.
Second at the dawn of the round, Vijay Singh and his son Qass did well with a 60 card once again, but they ran out of holes to beat the Thomases, however, finishing only one stroke behind.
The team O’Meara and Trevino team that finished 3 th rank two shots of Thomas, have done very well with maps of 59.
