The Polish national team will host England in the Euro Zone 2022 World Cup Qualification Group I match at the Warsaw National Stadium on Thursday (9/9/2021). The match is believed to be fierce, especially since both teams got good results in the previous two matches.
Poland as the host on paper is seeded against England in the match later. In the previous two matches, Robert Lewandowski and his teammates managed to beat Albania and San Marino.
While the British visitors came with great confidence in the capital. Because in the previous match, they won convincingly over Hungary with a score of 4-0 and Andorra with the same score. It can be said that England’s current performance is very effective by scoring eight goals in two games.
Even so, the coach of the Polish national team, Paulo Sousa, said his team would continue to fight with an effective game to face England. He said he would rely on his flagship striker Robert Lewandowski in attack.
Paulo Sousa also considers Lewandowski’s current role with Poland to have a positive impact on his current squad. He considers his attackers like Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal and Lionel Messi in Argentina.
But the 51-year-old coach insists that the game of football is a sport that is played with teamwork. Lewandowski’s impressive performance must also be helped by the other players under his care.
“Robert Lewandowski is very important for the Polish National Team. He is like Leo Messi for Argentina or Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal,” said Paulo Sousa, via the official website of the Polish National Team, Wednesday (8/9/2021).
“Remember that football is a team game and no one can win alone. Even the best have to remember that they are part of the team and have to make a positive impact on the team.”
