Poor attitudes not needed at Everton

Everton recorded an incredible 3-2 win over Watford on Sunday to end a five-game losing run. The Toffees came back from two goals down through goals from Oumar Niasse, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Leighton Baines.

There was also still time for former Everton midfielder Tom Cleverley to fire a penalty wide of goal ten minutes into stoppage-time. The miss was a truly fitting end to a pulsating game.

The Toffees players showed tremendous spirits in the latter stages of the game to pull off what could be a massive result.

However, it is not all good news for the Toffees, as according to the Liverpool Echo, Everton pair Kevin Mirallas and Morgan Schneiderlin missed yesterday’s game after a training ground incident.

The reports suggest that the pair were sent home from a coaching season by Everton first team coach Duncan Ferguson for a lack of effort.

Schneiderlin has been terrible this season

Everton have endured a difficult season. One player that has epitomised Everton’s season so far is French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin. The former Southampton player arrived in January from Manchester United for £25million.

The French international produced some good form last season. However, this season his form has fallen off a cliff. The midfielder has looked frustrated for much of the season.

He has not been making easy tackles, tracking back nor doing the simple things that had made him such a highly rated player at Southampton. When he joined Everton, he said all the right things.

Yet, if this story is true, then it suggests that the midfielder has a poor attitude, which could explain his poor performances this season.

Mirallas has previous

Kevin Mirallas has reportedly been involved in a number of incidents of poor professionalism since joining the Toffees. The Belgian international is a very capable player on his day, but this season he has not been capable of performing on any day ending in Y.

In truth, Mirallas has the demeanour of a footballer whose talent cannot cash cheques that his ego is writing. He has talked about playing in the Champions League in the past.

For the past few seasons, his levels of consistency have been more Championship than Champions League. When the going gets tough, Mirallas does not seem to be anywhere in sight.

Mirallas has been in and out of the Everton at times in the last few years. It seems his attitude has not helped his cause in gaining a regular first-team spot at Everton.

May never play for Everton again

There are unconfirmed rumours on Merseyside that the pair will never play for Everton again. On their performances so far this season, the pair will not be a great loss to the struggling Toffees.

Who the next Everton boss is will dictate what happens to the pair. The favourite for the job is Sam Allardyce at 1/ 2. I really cannot see Big Sam putting up with poor attitudes or any messing about.

Among the other favourites are Burnley’s Sean Dyche and the Toffees current interim boss David Unsworth. I doubt Dyche or Unsworth will put up with unprofessionalism either at the club if either is appointed as the next permanent Everton boss.

The last thing that the Toffees need is players with bad attitudes. Everton have struggled for results this season and the atmosphere at the club has been toxic in recent weeks. They could not buy a win, until a slice of luck against Watford.

With Everton struggling so badly this season, the last thing that the Toffees need is players with bad attitudes.

The win over the Hornets could transform the Toffees season. It will have lifted spirits and confidence amongst the squad. Whether Mirallas and Schneiderlin will ever be in an Everton squad again is unclear.

However, with the January transfer window opening in less than two months’ time, it would not be a major surprise if one or both of the pair leave Merseyside in the relatively near future.

Will Schneiderlin and Mirallas ever play for Everton again?
