Premier League Result: Tottenham beat Crystal Palace 3-0

Tottenham Hotspur managed to appear brilliant when sinking Crystal Palace with a landslide score of 3-0.

This result also confirmed Tottenham’s record as a team without losing with a long streak during Boxing Day of the Premier League.

The Tottenham vs Crystal Palace match was held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, on Sunday (26/12).

Tottenham hat-trick, scored by Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min.

The victory over Palace made Tottenham now have a record without defeat in 15 consecutive Boxing Day appearances. This record is at the same time the best in all castes of current English football competition.

Tottenham, who have continued their six-game unbeaten run since Antonio Conte, have moved up to fifth in the standings with a collection of 29 points.

Meanwhile Palace, who lost their fourth in the last six games, had to be willing to drop down to 13th with a record of 20 points, according to the official Premier League website.

Kane’s goal also saw the England captain now share his place with Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler, as the Premier League’s top scorer on Boxing Day with nine goals.

Ironically for Patrick Vieira, who was not present at Palace due to self-quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19, this was his first Boxing Day defeat, having won eight of his playing career.

According to the club’s website, Tottenham allowed Palace more of the ball early in the game and relied on a counter-attack for the lead in the 32nd minute when Kane completed Lucas Moura’s cross from close range.

Two minutes later Tottenham’s lead was doubled when Lucas Moura met Emerson Royal’s cross with a header that slid across the far post. The challenge for Palace to bounce back was piled up as they had to play with just ten men after losing Wilfried Zaha to a second yellow card in the 37th minute, making it easy for Tottenham to maintain a 2-0 lead until halftime.

The situation left Tottenham free to control the game and in the 74th minute Son scored the hosts’ third goal after receiving Lucas Moura’s pass. Tottenham had several opportunities to increase the margin, but of course the home crowd was quite satisfied to go home from the stadium because the match ended with the score 3-0 over Palace.

In the next match, both teams will return to play on Tuesday (28/12). The Lillywhites are ready to visit St. Mary’s against Southampton.

While Crystal Palace will host bottom team Norwich City at Selhurst Park.
