Premier League Results: Defeated by Newcastle, Arsenal Threatened Absence at UCL Event

Arsenal had to swallow the bitter pill when they were crushed by Newcastle United.

This defeat also made Arsenal’s position to finish in the UCL zone next season to be threatened.

The Newcastle United vs Arsenal match is presented in the 37th week of the Premier League 2021-22 which held at St James’ Park, Monday (16/05/2022).

In this match, Newcastle made two changes to the squad that previously played against Manchester City. Meanwhile, Arsenal made three substitutions from the team that dueled against Tottenham.

Newcastle’s first goal was created by Ben White’s own goal. Bruno Guimaraes scored the second goal.

Newcastle and Arsenal immediately attacked each other as soon as the game started. But in the eighth minute the Gunners had a heart attack.

Because Wilson almost cut the ball forward. Luckily the ball still bounced towards Ben White.

In the 20th minute, Saka had threatened the Newcastle goal after collaborating with Odegaard. But his shot was blocked by Dan Burn and went off the field.

The 30th minute Joelinton managed to head the ball from a Matt Targett corner. But the ball hit Tomiyasu and went off the field.

Six minutes later Maximin crossed Tomiyasu’s defense and fired a shot into the bottom right corner of the Arsenal goal.

But the ball can still be pushed over by Ramsdale. In the end no goals were created until halftime. Newcastle 0-0 Arsenal.

Newcastle started the second half with a slick. Within 10 minutes after kickoff, they immediately broke into Arsenal’s goal.

Ben White scored his own goal. He was wrong to anticipate a cross from Joelinton. Score 1-0.

After winning, Newcastle increasingly eager to break into Arsenal’s goal again. The 72nd minute they almost scored through Wilson’s header. But the ball hits White and goes off the field.

In the 82nd minute, Wilson tried to find the net from Arsenal after seeing Ramsdale move too far from his post. Fortunately the effort did not score goal.

But in the 85th minute Newcastle finally scored their second goal against Arsenal. This time Bruno Guimaraes managed to record his name on the scoreboard.

He took advantage of a wild ball from Ramsdale who had previously tried to prevent the ball from being controlled by Wilson. 2-0.

In the end this score lasted until the end. Newcastle 2-0 Arsenal. This result makes the Magpies collect 46 points from 37 matches and sit in 12th position in the Premier League standings while the Gunners are stuck in fifth position with a collection of 66 points.

Now the Arsenal squad is two points behind Tottenham who are in fourth place.
