Frank Lampard’s team, Everton, beat Leeds United 3-0 in the 25th week of the Premier League at Goodison Park Stadium, Liverpool, Saturday. Elsewhere, Brighton and Hove Albion managed to secure victory after beating Watford 2-0 at Vicarage Road Stadium. Brentford played in a goalless draw against Crystal Palace.
Seamus Coleman and Michael Keane scored three of Everton’s winning goals in the first half, before being closed by young player Anthony Gordon in the second half. This victory keeps Everton in 16th place in the Premier League standings with 22 points from 22 matches, only one point ahead of Leeds United who are in 15th place.
In that match, Everton were able to take a quick lead in the 10th minute through Seamus Coleman after winning the duel with Matheusz Klich and heading the ball into Illan Meslier’s goal which made it 1-0. Everton regained their lead in the 23rd minute after defender Michael Keane headed home Anthony Gordon’s cross to make it 2-0.
In the remaining time of the first half, Everton had several times threatened the goal from Leeds, but the efforts of Alex Iwobi and Richarlison still did not produce results so the 2-0 score remained until halftime. In the second half, Leeds had a chance to press ahead but Everton kept pace and created a chance in the 75th minute when Anthony Gordon’s shot was blocked by Diego Llorente.
Everton’s third goal finally came in the 78th minute after Richarlison’s cross from Allan was found in the Leeds penalty area, the Brazilian striker was able to fire a shot that was hit by Anthony Gordon and made it 3-0 which lasted until the game was over.
Elsewhere, Brighton and Hove Albion managed to secure victory after beating Watford 2-0 at Vicarage Road Stadium, Watford, Saturday. In this match, two goals from Brighton were scored by Neal Maupay one minute before the end of the first half and Adam Webster in the second half.
This victory makes Brighton secure their position in 9th place with 33 points from 23 matches, while Watford are still in 19th position with 15 points from 23 matches.
Meanwhile, Brentford played a goalless draw against Crystal Palace in a match held at the Brentford Community Stadium Stadium, London, Saturday.
In this match, Brentford was more active in firing shots against Crystal Palace with a record 9 shots but only 2 were on target. On the other hand, Crystal Palace recorded a successful lead in possession with 58 percent and managed to release 6 shots with three on target, but in the end the glass score remained until the end of the match.
This result does not make Brentford move from 14th position in the Premier League standings with 24 points from 25 matches, while Crystal Palace are still stuck in 12th place with 26 points.
