Premier League Results: Leicester Defeat Chelsea 2-0

Leicester City managed to secure three points after a 2-0 win over Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday (20/1). The victory that made Leicester rise to the top of the standings.

Leicester immediately opened up the advantage with Wilfred Ndidi’s kick from outside the penalty box in the 6th minute. He grabbed the ball using Harvey Barnes’ bait which started from a quick corner.

The Foxes came close to adding to their lead when James Maddison’s long-range shot hit the crossbar.

Chelsea is not without chances, two attempts failed. Reece James’s shot and Thiago Silva’s header is saved by Kasper Schmeichel.

Marc Albrighton almost put Leicester up 2-0. Unfortunately, his right-footed effort in the penalty box was still saved by Edouard Mendy.

Jamie Vardy failed to push his team away when he escaped the offside trap and went head-to-head with Edouard Mendy. Unfortunately, Mendy refused to push the ball through the ball.

In the 40th minute, Chelsea’s attempted turn to equalize failed. Mason Mount’s free kick in front of the penalty box is still soaring high.

Jamie Vardy et al perched at the top of the standings with a collection of 38 points from 19 matches, one point ahead of Man United who have only played 18 matches.

As for Chelsea, the defeat against Leicester City made Frank Lampard’s team fixated in eighth place in the Premier League standings with a value of 29 from 19 matches.
