Liverpool defeated Tottenham Hotspur by a score of 2-1 in the Premier League match at Anfield. Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah brought Liverpool to their feet in the match.
Tottenham Hotspur scored a goal against Liverpool in the 47th second through Harry Kane. The England national team striker was able to see a golden opportunity after Son Heung-min’s shot from outside the penalty box hit the post.
Kane then heads the ball which is fairly low. Kane’s action could not be dammed by Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker. The ball slides into the goal.
After having a hard time dismantling the Tottenham defense in the early 20 minutes, Liverpool began to create many opportunities and dominate the game. However, Tottenham was able to maintain a 1-0 advantage until the first half ended.
The equalizing goal finally came in the 52nd minute. Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson successfully thrilled Tottenham’s goal. This goal was preceded by Fabinho’s pass into the penalty box.
The failure of Tottenham defender to throw the ball caused the ball to fall at the feet of Henderson. From a fairly narrow angle, Henderson made a left-footed shot that made the ball slide into the far post.
Liverpool finally turned 2-1 ahead in the 75th minute through a penalty execution by Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian player calmly fired a horizontal shot towards the left that could not be dammed by Paulo Gazzaniga.
Score 2-1 successfully maintained Liverpool until the end of the match.
Arsenal failed to win because of VAR
In other matches, Arsenal had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.
Arsenal were quick ahead 2-0 in the first 10 minutes of the match. Arsenal’s first goal was scored by Sokratis in the seventh minute and the second goal scored by David Luiz two minutes later.
But Crystal Palace managed to equalize the score to 2-2. Crystal Palace’s first goal was scored by Luka Milivojevic in the 32nd minute through a penalty.
The equalizing goal was then born from Jordan Ayew who successfully maximized James McArthur’s cross in the 52nd minute.
In a desperate condition, Sokratis managed to score a third goal in the 83rd minute but the goal was canceled by the referee after seeing VAR. Score 2-2 last until the end of the game.
