Premier League Results: Liverpool Win Dramatically Over Leicester

Liverpool managed to win dramatically with a score of 2-1 over Leicester City through goals scored by James Milner in injury time in the Premier League match at Anfield on Saturday (5/10).

In the first round, Liverpool appeared to dominate the match. They recorded a total of eight shots, five of which were right on target. Meanwhile, Leicester could not release a single threat to the Liverpool goal.

However, Liverpool must wait until the 40th minute to break the deadlock in this fight. Liverpool’s first goal scored by Sadio Mane.

This goal stems from short passes in the Liverpool defense area. But once the ball fell at the feet of James Milner, Milner immediately released a breakthrough bait far towards Mane.

This bait makes Mane apart from the escort Leicester defender. Face to face with Kasper Schmeichel, Mane calmly sent the ball into the goal.

Entering the second half, Liverpool continued to try hard to add a goal against Leicester. Juergen Klopp included Divock Origi and Jordan Henderson to increase the offensive power.

But it was the Leicester player, James Maddison who scored the equalizing goal in the 80th minute.

Perez who just entered the field in the 73rd minute gave James Maddison a pass. Maddison then released a hard kick that could not be dammed by Adrian.

When the 1-1 draw lasted until injury time, Liverpool managed to score the second goal. The Reds won a penalty which could then be executed well by James Milner. Score 2-1 for Liverpool at the end of the game.

In other matches, Aston Villa won a landslide victory 5-1 at the headquarters of Norwich City. Aston Villa’s winning goals were scored by a pair of Wesley, Jack Grealish, Conor Hourihane and Douglas Luiz goals. Norwich was only able to reply through Josip Drmic at the end of the match.

Liverpool’s victory over Leicester City gives them a chance to equal Manchester City’s record Premier League winning streak. Interestingly, it can be done at the headquarters of their rivals, Manchester United.

The victory over Leicester at Anfield on Saturday (5/10) was the 17th consecutive victory won by the Reds. Eight wins were recorded at the beginning of this season while nine other wins came from the end of last season.

17 consecutive wins that make Liverpool is now only one win from Manchester City’s record.

Liverpool can match Manchester City’s record in the ninth week, when they travel to Manchester United’s headquarters on Sunday (10/20). Victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford will certainly make the record feel even more meaningful.
