Premier League results: Mahrez Hattrick, Man City vs Burnley 5-0

Manchester City won 5-0 over Burnley in the match week 10 of the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, Saturday (28/11). Winger Riyad Mahrez scored a hat trick in this match.

Winger Riyad Mahrez gave Man City a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute. The Citizens’ counterattack from the left went smoothly.

Ferran Torres gave the ball to Kevin de Bruyne which was then passed to Mahrez. With one control in the penalty box, Mahrez broke into Burnley’s goal.

Burnley’s defensive inaction allowed Mahrez to score the second goal in the 22nd minute. Starting from defender Kyle Walker, Mahrez received the ball without close escort from the opposing defender.

The player from Algeria was also almost without difficulty when accelerating in the Burnley penalty box. After outwitting two opposing players, Mahrez curled a left-footed shot into the right post and goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell couldn’t anticipate.

Defender Benjamin Mendy’s volley sent Pep Guardiola’s team to close the first half with a 3-0 lead over Burnley. Mendy successfully took advantage of De Bruyne’s breakthrough bait in the 41st minute.

Burnley almost scored a goal back through Josh Benson’s free kick in the 62nd minute. However, Benson’s shot flew narrowly over Ederson’s crossbar.

Ferran Torres made Man City further away from Burnley through his goal in the 66th minute after utilizing a Gabriel Jesus pass.

The host was increasingly a feast for goals after Mahrez hat trick in the 69th minute. De Bruyne returned to being a Man City goal actor. His breakthrough bait to Phil Foden allowed the England national team midfielder to release Mahrez’s cross. Without difficulty Mahrez headed the ball into the goal.

Brighton’s suffering almost grew if referee Lee Mason did not annul an own goal by goalkeeper Peacock-Farrell in the 75th minute.

Peacock-Farrell was initially able to block Gabriel Jesus’ shot, but the ball hit his knee and went into the net himself. However, after being checked via VAR, Gabriel Jesus was first in an offside position.

Man City had the last chance through De Bruyne in the 90th minute, but his shot hit the post. Man City won 5-0 over Burnley.
