Manchester City won a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa in the Week 10 match of the English League at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester, Saturday (10/26) night.
The host already has a chance to score in the fifth minute. Gabriel Jesus kick while turning the body almost became the Citizens’ first goal. The score remains balanced because the ball is still beside the goal.
Man City is dominant in possession, but it is difficult to produce good passes to penetrate the Villans defense.
When they get a chance to score, Manchester Blue players fail to make an accurate final finish. Until the 20th minute there were no chances that led to the visitors’ goal.
Joao Cancelo’s kick from outside the penalty box that was caught well by Tom Heaton in the 21st minute became Man City’s first shot on goal.
Only a minute later from Cancelo’s opportunity, Aston Villa turned around to have a chance through John McGinn who was still able to be blocked by Ederson. The referee had to check the possibility of a penalty because McGinn was seen tackled, but in the end referee Graham Scott did not point to the white point.
After a goalless first half and minimal chances, Man City immediately scored in the first minute of the second half. Jesus’ long bait can be done well by Raheem Sterling.
In the 55th minute Jesus scored the second goal for Man City but thwarted by Tyrone Mings.
Ten minutes later, Kevin De Bruyne opened fire from outside the penalty box. The speed of the ball released by the Belgian midfielder was not touched by anyone in the penalty box and slid smoothly into the goal of Aston Villa.
Man City’s third goal was made by Ilkay Gundogan in the 70th minute who made use of Bernardo Silva’s rebounding ball.
Winning 3-0 when the game still leaves 20 minutes left makes Man City look relaxed despite still trying to find opportunities to score additional goals. Entering the 88th minute, City must play with 10 people after Fernandinho received a second yellow card.
In minutes of added time, Man City and Aston Villa have the chance to score goals. The final result remains 3-0 and they went back up to second place in the English Premier League.
