The free kick scheme again threatens the Man United goal. Saiss tries to deflect the ball from Pedro Neto, but De Gea is quick to make a save.
Wolverhampton did not give Man United a chance to develop the game. Even though the Red Devils had the ball, Wolves were able to keep their distance, making it difficult for the hosts to score goals.
On the other hand, Wolves were quite energetic in attacking, but cooperation in the final third of the field was less solid.
In the 69th minute, Edinson Cavani’s goal was canceled because the Uruguay striker was in an offside position. The referee did not consider Connor Coady’s handsball at the moment close to the goal process.
Patricio and De Gea both performed well in this match by defeating various opponents’ chances. De Gea made at least five saves and Patricio twice.
Entering the third minute of extra time, Marcus Rashford scored. After receiving a pass from Fernandes, Rashford worked the ball before firing a left-footed shot which Patricio couldn’t anticipate because it hit Saiss’s body.
Man United also won a narrow victory and finished runner-up.
Total Man United have won three times in injury time. Before fighting Wolves, the Red Devils squad also did this when they beat Brighton & Hove Albion in the second week of the Premier League and Southampton at the end of November.
Man United is indeed hot and is pressing Liverpool at the top of the standings. Man United forced the defending champions to make no more mistakes against Newcastle United on Thursday (31/12), such as when they were held to a draw at West Bromwich Albion on Boxing Day.
