The 19th week of the Premier League match between Crystal Palace vs Manchester United will be presented at the Selhurst Park Stadium on Thursday.
The match between Palace and United ended in a draw with a score of 1-1.
Manchester United’s goal was scored by Bruno Fernandes, while Palace equalized in stoppage time through a goal scored by Michael Olise.
With this result, Manchester United remains in third place with 39 points and failed to overtake Manchester City who are above it.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace is in 12th place with 23 points.
In the first round, the duel was quite tight.
Man United’s first chance came at the 15th goal through Luke Shaw’s volley, but unfortunately his shot was wide of the Palace goal.
Crystal Palace tried to reply through Odsonne Edouard, but his effort still hit the post.
MU was able to score a goal in the 43rd minute through Bruno Fernandes after receiving Christian Eriksen’s cross.
The 1-0 score lasted until the first half was over.
In the second half, Crystal Palace, who were left behind, tried to play more attacking.
Palace had the chance to score through Marc Guehi’s header, but David de Gea managed to keep this chance at bay.
Palace’s equalizer came in stoppage time through Michael Olise’s deflected shot.
Michael Olise’s shot slid hard into De Gea’s goal after hitting the post first.
Score 1-1 last until the game is over.
Erik ten Hag felt his squad squandered the opportunity to score goals to secure the game.
“That was one of the key moments where we conceded,” said Ten Hag. “It wasn’t necessary – we should have looked for the second goal.
“It’s very clear that when you are 1-0 up and in control, football in one moment can change everything – it’s an unlucky moment and in that moment you lose control of the game,” he continued.
“We were 1-0 up. In the second half we had a lot of space to kill them and score the second goal. I never saw us really going for the second goal,” Ten Hag added to the BBC as quoted by ESPN.
“It’s hard to say [why]. I have to criticize my team. Go for second. Bruno and [Marcus Rashford] on the wings, [Alejandro] Garnacho, lots of creativity, speed and power and [Scott] McTominay with penetration at the back, ” he continued.
The draw against Palace was compounded by Casemiro picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, keeping him out of United’s trip to Arsenal on Sunday.
“Casemiro is a very important player for us, [he is] one of the reasons we are where we are,” said Ten Hag.
“But last time we beat Arsenal without Casemiro. We have the squad, we can fill the gaps, the squad can fill the gaps – we’ve shown how to beat Arsenal.”
De Gea says that Casemiro’s absence will be a bitter blow for United at the Emirates.
“It’s a big blow to lose Casemiro for Sunday,” De Gea told Sky Sport as quoted by ESPN.
“I don’t understand why Arsenal didn’t play because we had to play the same week and they didn’t. Now we have lost one of our best players. I don’t understand. Now we are missing him for a long time.” big game and it was a big loss for us.”
