Manchester United beat West Ham United 2-1 in the fifth Premier League match at the London Stadium, Sunday (19/9).
Man Utd tried to press directly from the start of the match. Responding to the way the visitors played, West Ham were able to defend well.
The Hammers even got a chance first. Jarod Bowen and Tomas Soucek made the supporters in the stands excited to see their favorite team making trouble for the visitors.
Man Utd did not remain silent, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Cristiano Ronaldo responded by testing the West Ham defense.
Entering the 30th minute, a West Ham attack led to a goal. Said Benrahma’s shot against Man Utd hits Raphael Varane. The ball turned and went into the net, while David De Gea step dead.

In the second half the Red Devils heavily bombarded the host defense. Fernandes and Ronaldo opened up chances early in the second half. Meanwhile Fornals, Benrahma, and Bowen routinely make Man Utd in a state of anxiety.
Entering the last 20 minutes, Man Utd began to lock up the West Ham defense. The cooperation of Man Utd players in the final third area can be read by a solid West Ham lineup. Ronaldo fell several times in the penalty box and hoped the referee would point to the spot.
The 89th minute, Jesse Lingard scored. After receiving a pass from Nemanja Matic, Lingard dribbled and fired. The score becomes 2-1.
Entering injury time, West Ham got a penalty after Luke Shaw handsball. Mark Noble who became the executor failed to beat David De Gea. Man Utd grabbed all three points thanks to a narrow win in London.
David de Gea for the first time can save a penalty in the Premier League since October 2014. In the span of seven years, De Gea faced a total of 21 penalties that could not be saved.
Cristiano Ronaldo (36 years 226 days) is currently the second oldest player to score in two consecutive Premier League games. He only lost to Ryan Giggs (39 years 86 days).
