Liverpool won full points over Nottingham Forest in the 2023-2024 Premier League. The two teams faced each other at Anfield, Liverpool, Sunday (29/10/2023).
The Reds – Liverpool’s nickname – won decisively with a final score of 3-0. Liverpool’s three goals were scored by Diogo Jota (31′), Darwin Nunez (35′) and Mohamed Salah (77′).
Liverpool immediately stepped on the gas in the early minutes. The match had only been running for eight minutes, the hosts immediately created a dangerous opportunity through Diogo Jota’s header, but it was still thwarted by Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Entering the 15th minute, it was Alexis Mac Allister’s turn to pose a threat with his shot. But unfortunately it is still widening.
Darwin Nunez did not miss out on scoring a goal. Unfortunately his shot was again blocked by Matt Turner.
After being repeatedly attacked, Nottingham Forest’s defense finally broke down in the 31st minute. Diogo Jota got his name on the scoreboard after grabbing the rebound from Darwin Nunez’s shot.
Liverpool were immediately able to double their lead five minutes later. This time, it was Darwin Nunez’s turn to get his name on the scoreboard.
Liverpool continued to make threats after threats through the efforts of Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai five minutes before the end of the first half. However, the score 2-0 for Liverpool did not change until halftime.
Winning 2-0 did not make Liverpool relax their attacks. Instead, Liverpool continued to press aggressively in the second half.
However, the continuous attacks launched by Mohamed Salah, Harvey Elliott and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 66th minute still did not result in a goal to increase the lead. But Mohamed Salah apparently just needs to be patient.
Because the player from Egypt finally managed to score a goal in the 77th minute. Dominik Szobozlai’s bait lured Matt Turner out of his nest.
Mohamed Salah picked up the ball straight past the goalkeeper from the United States. Salah also threw the ball from outside the penalty box into the unguarded goal.
Cody Gakpo’s goal which was disallowed for offside in the minute of injury time closed this match. Liverpool also gained full points comfortably.
The defeat left Forest in 16th place in the standings with 10 points, five points above the relegation zone.
