This week in premier league after Sunday‘s match played. A lot of changes could be seen on points table. Some goes up and some have gone down. We shall put some light on how the clubs and their game going when the title race have started to become tougher. And retaining positions and claiming wins has become very important.
We will start by discussing the big match played on Saturday night between top position holders Manchester City and Chelsea. Though early goals were scored but the game couldn’t give both teams more or less of a point as it ended in a draw. Loic Remy who came in for suspended Costa ,scored goal in 41 minute but the lea was instantly equalized when Silva finish the goal , a fiery shot passed by Aguero seconds before half time. According to table now Chelsea is still on top with 53 points and a goal difference of almost of ten. And Man City has wasted a chance to minimize the point’s gap of five.
Manchester United has gone up on third place after winning against Leicester by 3-1 taking Southampton’s place. Good steady going of Louis Van Gal and his new club. He has shown why he was chosen by Sir Fergie as his successor. Southampton lost to Swansea by 0-1. The loss has kept them away bagging third position and now they are at fourth place and a point below Manchester United.
Now talking about the one team who always play so poorly that one just cannot stop calling the heavens for help, yes I am talking about the gunners, the lovers Arsenal. Now it has become a practice of mine to blame Arsene Wenger in every season, forgetting that they played the exact game in previous season as well. The club losses in stage games of Champions League and then out of nowhere lead the aggregate of 0-4 in knockout matches. When everyone elopes they rise, today against struggling Aston Villa the club fired five goals to none. Giroud, Ozil, Walcott, Cazorla and Bellerin were the lucky shooters. Arsenal now has the same points of Southampton but with a GD and a position below.
A win over West Brom by 0-3 couldn’t help Spurs to retain their position. They now stand at sixth position with 40 points and a GD of only 5. Liverpool is struggling hard to come on top after Tuesday‘s defeat to Chelsea the club is proving their worth especially the return of Sterling. They won against West Ham by 2-0 on Saturday. Benson Rodgers side improved their position and finished 7th this week with 38 points. West Ham finished at eighth with 36 points. Stoke City and Swansea on 9th with 32 & 10th with 30 respectively ended this week.
So far so good, let’s see now what the future has packed for us the viewers and of course for the league and its tributaries. Stay packed and cozy cause it’s the geeky full of love February.
