PSG Wins France Ligue 1 After Messi’s Spectacular Goal

Continuation of the 34th week of Ligue 1, PSG met Lens on Saturday (4/23/2022).

Playing as the host at the Parc des Princes, PSG had to settle for sharing the numbers with the score 1-1.

Had a 1-0 lead through Messi’s beautiful kick, PSG had to concede two minutes before when normal time was over.

PSG played very dominant for most of the match.

However, they had to wait until the 68th minute to be able to break into Lens’ goal.

In this match, Lionel Messi became the hero of Les Parisien through the goals he scored.

But, PSG then conceded in the 88th minute from Corentin Jean. Despite failing to win, PSG closed the match with a winning party.

Because, PSG has confirmed the Ligue 1 title for the 2021/2022 season with the addition of one additional point.

PSG got 78 points, 16 points ahead of Marseille who is in second place. PSG is unlikely to be evicted by Marseille with five games remaining.

Lens had spread threats at the beginning of the game. In the 7th minute, Seko Fofana took a long-range shot. However, it’s still not right on target.

Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Marquinhos took turns getting chances to score. But, until the first half was over, no goals were created. Both teams had to settle for a 0-0 score when they entered the locker room.

PSG remained dominant at the start of the second half. In the 57th minute, Lens had to play with 10 players after Kevin Danso received his second yellow card. PSG are increasingly aggressive.

The new PSG deadlock broke in the 68th minute. After a long time in possession of the ball, Neymar found an opening to feed on Messi. From a considerable distance, Messi pulled off a curling kick and a beautiful goal was created. PSG lead 1-0.

PSG relaxed the pressure and wasted many chances. Lens then gave a penalty in the 88th minute. Corentin Jean broke into Keylor Navas’ goal and made the score 1-1. After that, no additional goals were created.

PSG did not get full points in this match.

However, the 1-1 draw was enough to secure the Ligue 1 title for the 10th time.
