Tennis News : Rafael Nadal did not win his first title in the 2019 season until he fell at the Italian Open last May before returning to win the French Open.
After that, Rafael Nadal appeared consistent enough to compete with Novak Djokovic for the world number 1 at the end of the season.
Reducing the tournament schedule as much as possible, Nadal conquered tournaments in Montreal and US Open so as to get a convincing advantage in order to reach world number 1. He had pulled over from the tennis world for about two months and was motivated to reach that position and compete with Djokovic in Paris and London.
Things did not go so well for Nadal after being in Paris he was forced to resign due to injury before diving in the semifinal match against young Canadian tennis player, Denis Shapovalov. Nadal then headed for the ATP Finals in London with 640 points ahead of Djokovic who won the Paris Masters.

After the bitter defeat of Alexander Zverev in the first round group phase of the ATP Finals, Nadal found his strength to overthrow Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas and complete the group phase by claiming 400 points before celebrating his success in returning to world number 1 at the end of the season for the fifth time in his career.
Two Grand Slam titles and two Masters 1000 titles were enough for Nadal to return to the top position. This season Nadal lost before the semifinals twice and his consistency made the 33-year-old through another impressive season.
With the momentum he has built throughout the 2019 season, Nadal leads Spain in the Davis Cup Finals, Madrid. He won eight matches, both singles and doubles, before offering his title to Spain. After that, Nadal rested well ahead of the ATP Cup in January.
Nadal uploaded a photo taken from the museum located in his tennis academy surrounded by six trophies which he won in the 2019 season and hopes for the same thing to happen in the coming season.
