Rajon Rondo has revealed his experience of sharing the court with LeBron James. Both men played together for one and a half season in the Los Angeles Lakers.
While recording for the Green podcast show hosted by the two-time NBA champion Draymond Green, Rondo admitted that he and James put their egos aside and respected each other.
“He’s professional and again if you spend that much money on your body and when no one’s looking or no one’s watching you still doing the right thing,” Rondo said.
“You’re able to stay and have a career like he’s having. He’s arguably the greatest player of all time.” Rondo added.
Rondo and James were teammates in Laker for two seasons they shared the floor in eighty-eight games. The former point guard was able to score 7 points and 3.6 rebounds and 5.8 assist before the period.
Apart from that, the man contributed the second title of his career to the team and it was achieved together with the number 23 in the NBA Bubble.
In addition, his two years with the Lakers enabled Rondo to familiarise himself with James, personally.
Therefore the former player got to witness for himself all the hard work the number 23 had provided to remain at a high standard all his career.
The main derivative, however, was the physical work of the Lakers star, which helped him play for 22 years in the NBA.
“Nobody takes care of their body like he does. He’s definitely one of the greatest of all time, extremely disciplined.” Rondo said.
“He does more than most. Even more than some of the great NBA players have done,” Rondo added.
Rondo officially retired from the NBA after 16 seasons of playing the game he has love for. He said that he wished to do more for his kids.
“Yeah, I’m done. I can’t. I’d rather spend time with my kids. A full-time dad, whenever I can be.” Rondo said.
