Marcus Rashford, 26, was spotted out in Belfast last week. Manchester United claims he has “taken accountability for his actions” after missing the FA Cup victory over Newport. Rashford is expected to be available for United’s Thursday night trip to Wolves.
Following Marcus Rashford’s unavailability from the team’s 4-2 victory at Newport County, Manchester United claims to have handled an “internal disciplinary” situation involving the player. Rashford was originally listed as being sick when he was left out of the team on Sunday. Earlier in the week, the England striker was snapped leaving the house in Belfast.
But in a statement released on Monday, United added, “Marcus has accepted charge of his conduct. The internal disciplinary matter about this has been resolved and closed.” On Thursday night, when United travels to Molineux to play Wolves, Rashford will be available for selection.
Ten Hag said that upon his arrival at United in 2022, there was “no positive culture” and that he had experienced disciplinary problems during his time at Old Trafford. After a breakdown with the Dutchman earlier this month, Jadon Sancho went back on loan to Borussia Dortmund.
When asked whether Rashford was an additional example of that “no good culture” following the Newport game, Ten Hag responded, “I don’t go in this case.” We had already discussed it, had a fun game,
Has Rashford encountered issues previously this term?
Ten Hag released Rashford for the second time in less than a year, according to confirmation that he was disciplined for a disciplinary infraction. On December 31, 2022, Rashford arrived late to a squad meeting and was not included in the Man Utd starting lineup against Wolves. Despite this, he moved on to score the game’s winning goal.
Earlier in the season, Rashford additionally had to make amends with Ten Hag after celebrating his birthday a few hours after United’s 3-0 home loss to Manchester City, their local rivals. Ten Hag declared at the time, “It is unacceptable.” “I told him, he apologized and that is it.”
“Marcus Rashford is a striker, of course; we do have some other options, and Anthony’s absence of a few months would certainly leave a void in our squad.”
