Real Madrid Goalkeeper Courtois Undergoes Successful Surgery for Knee Injury

Real Madrid shared the news that their goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, recently had surgery on his right knee. He hurt his meniscus ligament during a training session on Tuesday.

Courtois was already recovering from a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee, which happened back in August. He was supposed to play in a friendly game but had to sit out due to this new injury.

The operation on Courtois’ knee went well, according to Real Madrid’s medical team. He will now focus on recovering and getting back to full health in the coming days.

Unfortunately, Courtois won’t be able to play for the rest of the season due to this new injury. He was expected to return to the field on March 31, but now he will have to wait until next season.

“Our player Thibaut Courtois has today had a successful operation on the internal meniscus ligament in right knee under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services.” Real Madrid said in a statement.

“Courtois will complete his recovery process in the coming days,” Real Madrid added.

Real Madrid also announced their summer pre-season tour in the United States. They will play against AC Milan, FC Barcelona, and Chelsea between July 31 and August 6.

Real Madrid moved five points clear at the top of LaLiga after beating Osasuna 4-2 at El Sadar Stadium on Tuesday.

Real manager Carlo Ancelotti is feeling very positive about the team’s current situation. He has believed that they are in better shape than ever before.

“It’s a hugely important game that will demand the best of us, especially going into the international break,” Ancelotti said.

“We want to finish this part of the season strongly. We’ve done pretty well so far and we’re heading into the break in a good position.”

“I’m a pretty optimistic guy and we’re in better shape than ever. We have a lead in LaLiga and we’re in the Champions League quarter-finals, with (Eder) Militao and (Thibaut) Courtois on the way back.” he added.
