Real Madrid Lose 0-3 to Eibar

Real Madrid suffered a severe defeat from Eibar in the match of Week 13 of La Liga 2018/2019 which took place at the Municipal de Ipurua Stadium, Eibar, Spain, Saturday (24/11).

Santiago Hernan Solari places his best players, such as Thibaut Courtois, Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema in Madrid’s away match.

The first goal that was lodged in Courtois’ goal occurred in the 16th minute. The attack from the left wing that Marc Cucurella started was almost completed by Kike Garcia Martinez, but the ball hit Courtois. Gonzalo Escalante immediately kicked the ball ahead of Dani Ceballos.

The hosts’ thin superiority lasted until halftime. Additional goals for Eibar occurred in the second round. Seven minutes after referee Juan Martinez blew the sign whistle began the second half, the Los Armeros squad managed to hold off on the Madrid attack and forced the visitors to make a mistake in the area of their own defense.

Eibar’s tight pressing made Madrid players try to release the ball in one touch. The purpose of Toni Kroos sending the ball to an empty area inhabited by Luka Modric actually became disastrous.

Cucurella was again the initiator of Eibar’s goal. After grabbing the ball from Modric, Cucurella immediately sent the ball into the Madrid penalty box. Sergi Enrich who was waiting and without control made the ball nestle on the right side of Courtois’ goal.

Five minutes later from the second goal, Eibar supporters again jumped in excitement after Kike finished the opportunity. Kike started the movement on the right side and sent the ball to the left wing. Cucurella who welcomed the bait then released the ball into the mouth of the goal. Enrich failed to complete the task, but Kike who was faster than Raphael Varane managed to meet the wild ball into the goal.

Thanks to a 3-0 victory, Eibar is now ranked seventh with 18 points or just two points behind Madrid who are ranked sixth. Of the 13 matches, Madrid have swallowed five defeats and have won six wins and two draws.

Reported by BolaSport.com from Opta Jose, Real Madrid goalkeeper trembled three times in this match, making them the second most broken-down team in the Spanish League away match. Los Blancos has now suffered 16 goals when visiting their opponent’s headquarters.

The club, who just made coach Santiago Solari as its coach just lost to the bottom of La Liga Standings, Huesca, who have conceded 19 times goal. On the other hand, this match is a separate record for Solari who has not been able to make an effective team taking advantage of possession.

Despite having 60.3 percent possession, they were only able to make five chances in the first round. The phenomenon is the least number since Solari led Los Merengues for the first time in the match against Melilla, 1 November 2018.
