Real Madrid officially parted ways with Eden Hazard. This certainty was announced by Los Blancos -nicknamed Real Madrid – on its official website on Sunday (4/6/2023).
In fact, Eden Hazard has one more year left with Real Madrid, namely until June 2024 according to his original contract. However, the Belgian national team player’s contract was terminated earlier by Los Blancos.
According to a statement from Real Madrid, the 32-year-old player has reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract early on June 30, 2023. As a result, Eden Hazard will be on that date as unemployed, aka without a club.
“Real Madrid CF and Eden Hazard have reached an agreement whereby the player’s contract will terminate immediately on June 30, 2023,” wrote Real Madrid’s official statement on their website, quoted on Sunday (4/6/2023).
“Real Madrid would like to wish Eden Hazard all the best and wish him and his whole family every success in this new stage,” added a Los Blancos statement. For information, the former Chelsea star joined Real Madrid in June 2019. While defending Los Blancos to date, he has only played 54 matches in all competitions.
As a result of injuries that always haunted him while there, Eden Hazard was rarely used in the starting line-up. Since then, he has only mostly warmed up on the bench.
With Real Madrid, Eden Hazard has won 8 titles over four seasons. There are 1 European Cup trophy, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup, 2 Leagues, 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Spanish Super Cups. Now, it is highly anticipated which club will become Eden Hazard’s next port.
