Carlo Ancelotti revealed the condition of two of Real Madrid’s mainstay players, Vinicius Junior and Antonio Rudiger ahead of the match against Girona. As is known, both players were absent from Real Madrid’s previous match.
Los Blancos – Real Madrid’s nickname – will host Girona in matchday 24 of the 2023/2024 Spanish League. The match will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Sunday (11/2/2024).
The match between Real Madrid and Girona is predicted to be tight, because both teams are determined to win in order to maintain their hopes of winning the Spanish League this season. Los Blancos currently tops the standings with 58 points, while Girona is in second place with 56 points.
Ahead of the match, Carlo Ancelotti said Vinicius Junior could return to playing. Because, the Brazilian national team striker was absent when Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid.
“Yes. There is no doubt, Vinicius is ready to play 90 minutes,” said Carlo Ancelotti, quoted from Mundo Deportivo, Saturday (10/2/2024).
The Italian coach explained that Antonio Rudiger was feeling well after recovering from his injury. However, Carlo Ancelotti said he still had to wait for the German national team defender’s condition to be revealed against Girona.
“Rudiger feels fine. Today he felt good in training but we have to wait until tomorrow to see how he feels,” explained Carlo Ancelotti.
Antonio Rudiger suffered a hamstring injury when Real Madrid beat Getafe 2-0 in early February 2024. As a result, the 30 year old player had to step aside from the gridiron to undergo the recovery process.
“Whoever wins tomorrow will benefit, but there is still a long way to go in the league,” said Ancelotti, quoted from Real Madrid’s official website, Saturday (10/2/2024).
“Both teams have high points and the sooner we reach 80 points, the sooner we can win the league,” continued the man from Italy.
However, Ancelotti considers the match against Girona not an important match for his team. However, he will still try to bring his team to get full points because Blanquivermells is a dangerous competitor at the moment.
“I don’t think it’s important. They are a team in the domestic league that is performing very well. “They are the strongest and most dangerous competitors at the moment,” he concluded.
In the first meeting, Madrid managed to steal a victory with a landslide score of 3-0. It’s worth waiting to see whether Jude Bellingham and friends can repeat similar results or not.
