Real Madrid and Chelsea have talks over a summer move for Thibaut Courtois. Los Blancos are willing to offer a five year, according to reports.
Courtois has just a year left on his current deal with Chelsea and he has heavily linked with a move to Santiago Barnebau. He is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. The Belgian has won two Premier League titles and the FA Cup during his time Chelsea.
He also spent three seasons on loan to the Real’s city rivals Atletico Madrid, where he won a host of trophies, including LaLiga, the Europe League and Copa del Rey.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper appears undecided about his feature, and the Blues may hope the new coach Maurio Sarri can help keep him stay at Stamford Bridge at least this season.
Speaking to Spanish media Marca, Courtois said his options are open and did not rule out staying at Chelsea in this summer.
“Now I’m going to talk to my agent to see what the possibilities are. All options are open for me. I may also stay at Chelsea.” Courtois said.
“People always complain that players don’t comply with their contracts, but maybe they do. I don’t think they will keep someone with my qualities on the bench, even I don’t extend. But maybe staying is possible.” Courtois added.

Despite Keylor Navas’ good performance in recent years, Real has always wanted to secure the services of a big name in this post, including David De Gea’s last-minute aborted transfer in 2015. With Courtois, Real would make a very nice shot.
Real should not have any trouble getting Chelsea bent, if the agreement with Courtois is confirmed. Indeed, he will be out of contract in June 2019.
Coutois’s agent Christophe Henrotay on the other hand, admitted he has talked to Real about the potential move.
“Thibaut obviously interests the biggest clubs, and therefore the reigning European champions. He is a player who wins matches and trophies for you.” Henrotay said.
“I regularly meet with Real Madrid’s directors, and Thibaut’s situation has come up for discussion. My role is to keep them up to date with matters.” Henrotay added.
Courtois has won the golden glove award for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He conceded six goals at Russia but regularly made crucial saves to keep his team in matches.
