Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, revealed the key to his team’s success in winning a 2-1 comeback over Real Sociedad in the 2023-2024 Spanish League. He said there were 2 factors that determined success, namely the player’s commitment and determination.
Even so, Ancelotti is aware of the problems that exist at Real Madrid. He was also quite grateful because his team was able to turn things around. For Ancelotti himself, Real Sociedad is not an easy opponent to beat.
“We conceded three goals in the five games we played, and were behind in them. “We have to prevent that from happening because it’s difficult to get back up,” said Ancelotti, quoted from Real Madrid’s official website, Monday (18/9/2023).
“You have to try harder, as we saw today. And today against a team that plays very good football,” he continued.
“We managed to do it thanks to the commitment, energy and desire of the team, which has been visible in all these matches. “We were able to perform with an intensity that was difficult for our opponents to withstand for 90 minutes,” explained Ancelotti.
Furthermore, Ancelotti gave his opinion regarding the course of the match. Overall, the former AC Milan coach is quite satisfied with the performance played by his team.
“The first half wasn’t bad. “We tried to press far forward, but the opponent played very high defence and we had to attack more directly,” said Ancelotti.
“It was a good match, even though the goal we conceded was in one move. Real Sociedad usually does this and it was discussed before the match,” he continued.
“The opponent also has the quality to do this and surprise us. “We have many options in terms of players who can score goals, but we can’t concede and be behind in the match,” added Ancelotti.
Yes, Real Madrid won a comeback 2-1 over Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Monday (18/9/2023). Playing in front of their own public, they were surprised by Ander Barrenetxea’s quick goal in the 5th minute. However, Real Madrid then responded with two goals in the second half. The goals were scored by Federico Valverde (46′) and Joselu (60′).
This was the umpteenth time that Real Madrid had to fall behind through a quick goal, even though in the end they were able to win. For example, when they won 2-1 over Getafe and 3-1 over Almeria, Ancelotti’s troops always lost with quick goals.
This victory made Real Madrid successful in maintaining its winning trend by remaining unbeaten in the five matches they have played. Jude Bellingham cs is currently topping the standings with a collection of 15 points, two points ahead of rivals Barcelona.
