Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min admits he still can’t believe he can score three goals or a hat trick when he helped his team win 6-2 over Leicester City in the eighth week of the 2022-2023 Premier League.
Son was really surprised to be able to do all that, no wonder now he was feeling very, very happy.
The Tottenham vs Leicester match will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, on Saturday 17 September 2022. Able to show a good pattern of play, The Lilywhites also managed to ensure victory with a score of 6-2.
Previously, Son had started this season quite difficult to be able to show his ability. After scoring a hat-trick, Son was very surprised because he was finally able to make a maximum contribution.
“I can’t believe (to score a hat-trick). All my frustrations and what I had, disappointments and negative feelings just disappeared,” said Son Heung-min.
So happy to be able to score three goals at once, Son admitted immediately stiffened. That’s why he just kept quiet after scoring his third goal against Leicester.
“I couldn’t move so I stood still. It makes me very happy,” added the South Korean player.
Son himself took to the field in the second half to replace Richarlison. He also felt very lucky to be able to provide three valuable goals for Tottenham in that match.
“It’s a great feeling. Especially because the game isn’t over yet. I came on at 3-2. It was a tough game. To win in such a way was incredible,” he continued. “Three lucky goals and I’m very proud,” added Son.
