Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi revealed the reason for crying shortly after Red Sparks lost to Pink Spiders in the Korean volleyball league final, Tuesday (8/4).
Defeat was undoubtedly the root cause of Megawati’s tears, but there were other factors that made tears flow down her cheeks.
“Actually I was touched, of course I was sad, of course I was sad. Then I also endured my pain. Really endured it. Really hurt, I endured it until the end. Thank you my body endured until the end. I was sad because of that too,” said Megawati.
Megawati remains grateful after Red Sparks’ defeat to Pink Spiders in the Korean volleyball league final.
Red Sparks and Pink Spiders played a fierce final. Both teams played until the fifth game or the last match in a best of five format.
A tight score was displayed on the scoreboard. Megawati and her friends were leading and also behind. After losing 24-26 in the first two sets, Red Sparks then won 26-24 and 25-23 in the next two sets. In the deciding set, Red Sparks lost 13-15.
Megawati still accepted the results with sportsmanship and prioritized gratitude for being given smooth play until the end in an exciting match.
“Of course we are happy, thank God, we are still given safety until the end. Winning and losing are already arranged, God will arrange it all,” said Megawati.
The athlete who once strengthened the Thai and Vietnamese clubs stated that all members of the Red Sparks had tried their best to play in the final.
“Even though we lost, we lost with honor. We really played 3-2 until the point of 15-13. I mean, that’s a good point too. We were able to play until the end and survive until the end, cool,” said Megawati.
“We are in the same mood, but we can’t choose whether we want to win or not, what’s important is that we try our best because what determines is God, destiny,” she added.
Despite losing in the final, Megawati still raised the Red Sparks’ achievement from third place last season to runner up this season.
