Portugal national team striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has been widely linked with a move to Saudi Arabian club, Al Nassr in the middle of the 2022 World Cup. This has also made coach Selecao das Quinas – Portugal’s nickname, Fernando Santos speak up.
The issue of moving Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the talk of the town. Because the former Manchester United player is said to have reached an agreement with Al Nassr.
The news is circulating that Ronaldo will join the wealthy club from Saudi Arabia in January 2023. The fee that Al Nassr paid to bring in CR7 – Ronaldo’s nickname – is reportedly very fantastic, namely 200 million dollars.
Responding to the news, Santos admitted that he did not know anything about the transfer of his foster children. The 68-year-old coach revealed that they often discussed but did not mention the transfer.
“I don’t know, I haven’t discussed it with Ronaldo. I have spoken with the players but it has nothing to do with this issue,” said Santos, quoted from the US, Tuesday (6/12/2022).
Santos even admitted that he had just learned about the transfer. He said that currently Ronaldo is focused on bringing Selecao das Quinas – the nickname of the Portugal National Team – as far as possible in the 2022 World Cup.
“I didn’t even know and only found out a while ago. It was his decision, at the moment he is completely focused on the World Cup, to help the team.” Just to note, Portugal will face Switzerland in the top 16 round of the 2022 World Cup.
The match will take place at the Lusail Stadium, Wednesday (7/12/2022). Of course, victory is a fixed price for both teams to ensure their steps to the quarter-finals.
