Rio Ferdinand has believed Manchester United should bid to bring Wolves striker Raul Jiminez to Old Trafford this summer.
Jiminez has netted 26 club goals this season and Ferdinand believes that the Mexican would be a great singing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side.
“I think Wolves will do well to keep hold of him. I think he’s a player with immense talent and I think his goalscoring record over the last two years has been really good.” Ferdinand said.
“Before that his record was a bit shady, but he has come to the Premier League and hit the ground running. He’s been a breath of fresh air.
“As you can tell, he seems a great character around the place, and for a top club, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are sniffing. We’ve seen it in the media reports in the last few days that clubs are looking.” Ferdinand added.
Jimenez scored 31 goals in 120 appearances for Benfica but has netted 43 goals in 96 games for Wolves, joining on a permanent £30m deal in 2019. He scored his penalty against Burnley on Wednesday night.
“I wouldn’t say no at all. I think he’s something different to what they’ve got. What I like about him is he scores all types of goals.” Ferdinand said.
“He’s at the back post heading things and bullying defenders, and he can score tremendous goals like against Burnley out of nothing.” Ferdinand added.
United so far only signed midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP in the winter transfer window ahead of next season.
The Red Devils are in a battle to make the top four of EPL. They sit fifth place at the moment with 62 points and 28 goal difference with Leicester City.
