Road to 2023/2024 Champions League Final: Real Madrid

Real Madrid will be challenged by Borussia Dortmund in the 2023/2024 Champions League final. The Madrid vs Dortmund match at Wembley is scheduled to kick-off on Sunday, June 2 2024.

Madrid is the king of this competition. The Spanish representatives have won it 14 times, more than any other team. This season’s final will be their 18th final.

Madrid this season is in Group C. Madrid is in the same group as Napoli and Braga. Another team is Dortmund’s debut team and fellow countrymen from Germany, namely Union Berlin.

Madrid is too strong. They won all six group stage matches. In those six matches, Madrid scored a total of 16 goals and conceded seven.

Madrid finished as group winners. Madrid qualified accompanied by Napoli. Braga finished third, which knocked them out of the Europa League. Meanwhile, Union Berlin finished in the bottom position.

Real Madrid Has Played Against 3 German Clubs This Season

Madrid has played against three German clubs in the Champions League this season. The first is Union Berlin in the group phase. Madrid won 1-0 at Santiago Bernabeu, then won 3-2 in Germany.

The second is RB Leipzig in the round of 16. Madrid won 1-0 in Germany, then drew 1-1 at home (2-1 aggregate).

The third is Bayern Munich in the semifinals. Drawing 2-2 in Germany, Madrid then won 2-1 in Spain (4-3 aggregate).

In the final, Madrid will be challenged by another German representative. The opponent this time is Bellingham’s former club, Dortmund.
