Ronaldo Hattrick, Juventus Advance to Champions League Quarter Final

Juventus made it to the Champions League quarter-finals after a 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid with a hat trick from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 3-0 victory put Juventus through 3-2 on aggregate after they lost 0-2 at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

The Bianconeri had scored in the fourth minute through Giorgio Chiellini’s shot from close range. But the goal was not ratified by referee Bjorn Kuipers because Cristiano Ronaldo was considered to have carried out foul first.

Juventus then managed to lead 1-0 through Cristiano Ronaldo in the 27th minute. Ronaldo managed to head the ball from a mature pass from Federico Bernardeschi which was released towards the far post.

Juanfran who is near Ronaldo was unable to keep up with CR7 in an air duel to welcome the cross that came.

The 1-0 advantage that Juventus got in the first round boosted Max Allegri’s squad to catch up with Atletico on aggregate.

Four minutes of the second half went on, Ronaldo successfully doubled Juventus’ lead to 2-0, again through a header. Ronaldo headed in a cross which was released by Joao Cancelo.

Although Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak was able to block the ball, the referee validated the goal because it turned out the ball had already crossed the goal line before being blocked by Jan Oblak.

After winning 2-0, Juventus continued to try to increase the attack. Max Allegri decided to include Paulo Dybala to hunt down the third goal. Meanwhile, Atletico took Angel Correa to replace Thomas Lemar.

In the 68th minute, there was tension between Alvaro Morata and Chiellini. Morata pushed Chiellini and Morata to continue to exult because he thought Chiellini had fallen too easily.

After continuing to put pressure on, the best chance for Juventus to score was in the 82nd minute. Moise Kean, who was only two minutes into the free standing field after receiving Chiellini’s pass which Atletico defender had wrongly anticipated. Kean kicks off but the ball is still wide on the left side of the goal.

Two minutes later, Juventus got a penalty after Bernardeschi was dropped by Angel Correa.

Ronaldo who advanced as an executor managed to carry out his duties well. Ronaldo was able to outwit Oblak and make the score 3-0.

Atletico tried to press and look for an away goal that could make them qualify for the quarter-finals. But the 3-0 score lasted to the end and Juventus managed to get rid of Atletico. The victory brought Juventus to the quarter-finals 3-2 on aggregate.
