In one of the most recent contract news in Club Football, Arsenal and England winger Bukayo Saka has signed a new four-year contract with the Red Gunners that extends till 2027. Saka has been in impeccable form this season, being the first Premier League player to hit double-digit goals and assist tallies this Premier League Season.
His contract renewal means the world to the entire team and Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta as his previous contract was due to expire at the end of the next season. The 21-year-old has been one of Arsenal’s standout players in the last two seasons and having him stay in the club for a longer term will be a major boost to the Gunners.
In terms of performance, the promising 21-year old star has been on fire, having scored 14 goals and registered 11 assists in all competitions for Arsenal this season that also saw him being nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards. His performance has been in top notch quality as Saka was also the club’s leading goal scorer in the previous Premier Season with 11 goals.
In one of the interviews with the media, Arsenal Manager expressed his delight regarding Saka’s contract extension and stated
“First, congratulations to him (Saka) and thank you to everyone at the club who has been trying to get that deal done. His family, his agent, everybody put a lot of work and time into it. He represents this club in the best possible way and he has merited this contract with his contributions to the team, the club and how he is. Now we have to move again!”
He further stated that Saka’s commitment to the club will certainly set a precedent to Gunners’ top young stars, who might as well be very much motivated to see a promising star stand by his side and continue giving his best on the field. Saka isn’t the only Gunner to extend their stay with Arsenal. Fellow teammates Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel Martinelli have also chipped in and extended their respective contracts with the club.
Talking about the 2023-2023 Premier League season, Arsenal had a very promising campaign as they finished second in the league rankings with 81 points having played 37 matches, just behind Manchester City who are sitting on top with 86 points in the league table with still one more game in hand.
