Samuel Eto’o is accused of being the man who ruined the career of future Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana. This was stated directly by the former executive of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), Henry Njalla Quan.
As you know, long before his contract ended with Inter Millan and he was preparing to go to Manchester United, this 27-year-old goalkeeper failed to defend his country at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Samuel Eto’o was also accused of being the person who ruined the career of future Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana in the national team.
Reporting from the Daily Mail, Thursday (20/7/2023) Henry Njalla Quan explained that Onana had previously been included in the list of Cameroon national team players at the 2022 World Cup tournament. However, there was a dispute between Onana and coach Rigobert Song.
Henry Njalla Quan then revealed that Samuel Eto’o was the person who should be responsible for this. The reason is, Quan thinks that the President of Fecafoot (Cameroon Football Federation) wants to get rid of Andre Onana at all costs.
“I asked him formally about the future of our goalkeeper [Onana] in the national team, and he replied that the boy’s career was over and the letter he had sent to his club, Inter, was to get rid of the boy, so how can someone be so short-sighted? He wants to get rid of her at all costs?” Quan explained.
Even in his press conference, Quan revealed that Andre Onana’s call to the national team depended on President Fecafoot’s decision.
Furthermore, Quan suspects that Samuel Eto’o still wants to be a star even though he is now a manager.
“The stars of the national team are being strangled by someone who was a star when he was a footballer, and wants to remain a star as a manager. In every meeting he was there, in every training session he was there. Even the coach felt suffocated by Eto’o’s presence.” he continued.
Apart from the drama, now Andre Onana has officially been bought by Manchester United with an agreed value of £47.2.
