At the en of his contract with the Gunners in June 2018, Alexis Sanchez could leave the club at the end of 2016/17 season. The 28-year-old is yet to put his sign a new contract with Arsenal, hoping to receive a high pay to commit his future to Emirates. “I’m happy in London and hope to finish my contract here. I just hope that Arsenal will make the efforts to win titles ,” Sanchez told media. “I’d like to stay in this city, but in a winning team that has a winning mentality. I am 28 years old, I still have many years ahead of me.” Sanchez added.
Arsene Wenger on the other side, he said the negotiations have been shelved so Arsenal can concentrate on the run-in, reaching top four at the league and the FA Cup semi-final. Speaking to media recently, Wenger just want his men to focus at the end of the season.
“Look, at this time we have not any deal with him. We have decided to focus on the end of the season and talk about it during this summer.” Wenger said to media.
The Frenchman also said that former Barcelona stars suffered an ankle injury during Arsenal game against West Bromwhich on Saturday is not as first feared and he has left for 2018 World Cup Qualifiers with Chile.
“I don’t know, because he left for Chile and in South America they have a decisive period now for the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup and they have very important games.” Wenger said.
