Selling 13 players, Chelsea has just brought in 3 new personnel in the 2023 summer transfer market. Chelsea under the leadership of president Todd Boehly made a major revolution in the 2023 summer transfer market.
So far there have been 10 players released to other clubs. They are Mateo Kovacic (Manchester City), Kalidou Koulibaly (Al Hilal), Edouard Mendy (Al Ahli), Kai Havertz (Arsenal), Ruben Loftus-cheek (AC Milan), Tiemoue Bakayoko (without a club), NGolo Kante (Al Ittihad ), Baba Rahman (PAOK), Cesar Azpilicueta (Atletico Madrid) and Mason Mount Manchester United).
The most expensive player released by Chelsea is Kai Havertz, who was sold for 65 million pounds. The number of players being sold could increase to 13 if Romelu Lukaku, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Hakim Ziyech are sold.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the three names above will soon be sold in the near future. They will be sold before the Chelsea squad undergo a pre-season tour to the United States.
“Romelu Lukaku, Pierre Aubameyang and Hakim Ziyech are expected to return to training on 17 July 2023. Chelsea are asking for their time and finding a solution to sell them,” wrote Fabrizio Romano on his Twitter account, @FabrizioRomano.
While Chelsea are selling players, they have only brought in three new players in the 2023 summer transfer market. They are Nicolas Jackson (attacker, Villarreal), Christopher Nkunku (midfielder, RB Leipzig) and Diego Moreira (winger, Benfica).
If you don’t bring in additional quality players, it will be difficult to see Chelsea competing at the top of the 2023-2024 Premier League. Moreover, top Premier League clubs have been actively bringing in top players.
(Christopher Nkunku, 1 of 3 new players who joined Chelsea) Liverpool landed two top midfielders, namely Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis MacAllister. Arsenal have landed Kai Havertz on the verge of securing the services of England midfielder Declan Rice.
Manchester United are no less massive by bringing in Mason Mount and are one step away from landing Andre Onana from Inter Milan. What about Manchester City? Ilkay Gundogan’s departure replaced them by bringing Mateo Kovacic to the Etihad Stadium.
