Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has believed world No.1 Novak Djokovic will win all 3 Grand Slams in 2022.
In early 2022, Novak Djokovic was caught in a big controversy in Australia because he has not been vaccinated against COVID-19, the Serbian tennis player was granted a visa upon entry to this country, even though he had previously received a medical exemption from Tennis Australia.
However, Djokovic was not allowed to attend the Australian Open 2022. He also missed the opportunity to win the 21st Grand Slam in his career. This record then belonged to Spaniard Rafael Nadal, the player who defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final more than a week ago.
“Thank you Novak, you had a great fight in Australia. Not only did he fight for himself, but also for Serbia. Novak has glorified Serbia. He is always persistent, striving every day, both on and off the pitch.” Vucic said.
“Novak is stronger than all the other players. He will beat them all to win Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open in 2022. That’s my prediction,” Vucic added.
Responding to the Serbian president’s affection, Djokovic said: “I’m in Melbourne alone, but I’ve never felt lonely. It is because the President and the people of Serbia have always supported me.
“You guys are always behind me to support me wholeheartedly. That is something I will never forget. I am very grateful to everyone.” Djokovic added.
Djokovic spent two weeks resting in Serbia after returning from Australia. As scheduled, he will attend the Dubai Championship later this month. This is a competition in the ATP 500 category, the tournament in which Djokovic is ranked No. 1 seed, and he does not need to be vaccinated to still attend in the competition.
