Serena Williams Has thanked Andy Murray for his unwavering support and acknowledged his efforts in raising awareness and promoting gender equality in tennis.
“I have to say I’ve always enjoyed watching you. One of the main reasons because you were one of the few players who would be more angry than me on the court, which is a hard thing to do.” Williams said.
“But to me it was the most exciting thing to watch and I had the pleasure of playing mixed doubles by your side, which was such a fantastic experience to do that, at Wimbledon,” Williams added.
Murray, a prominent figure in the world of tennis, has been known for his vocal stance on gender equality and his advocacy for fair treatment of female athletes.
His unwavering support for women’s rights in the sport has not gone unnoticed, particularly by Williams, who has been a trailblaser for gender equality in tennis.
“I’m just so grateful that I had that experience and I also hold a special place in my heart to you because you always speak out so much for women and everything that women deserve.” Williams said.
Murray made a groundbreaking move by appointing Amelie Mauresmo as his coach in 2014. His action was significant in promoting gender equality in tennis.
Murray has been known for his vocal support of women’s tennis and has taken notable steps to advocate for women in the sport.
