Juventus had to be satisfied with only being able to get one point after being detained by Atalanta in Week 28 of the 2023-2024 Italian League, on Sunday (10/3/2024). Playing at the Allianz Stadium, the team nicknamed the Bianconeri was precisely matched by the visiting team with a score of 2-2.
With this draw, Juventus also failed to overtake AC Milan, which is in second place in the 2023-2024 Italian League standings. Massimiliano Allegri’s team inevitably remained in third place with 58 points, one point different from Milan.
Playing in front of their own supporters, Juventus actually appeared quite promising. Even though they don’t dominate possession of the ball, Juventus actually has more chances to score goals than Atalanta.
Juventus had a golden opportunity in the 12th minute. Fabio Miretti fired a shot from close range, but the ball was anticipated by goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.
Juventus had another chance in the 22nd minute. Federico Chiesa fired a shot on the edge of the penalty box, but still didn’t produce a goal.

In the 55th minute, Scamacca had the opportunity to threaten Juve’s goal. He fired a curling shot from outside the penalty box. The ball which was heading towards the bottom left side of the goal was blocked by Szczesny.
After that, Juventus tried harder to beat Atalanta’s defense. Their efforts finally paid off in the 67th minute. They built an attack from the left which ended with Andrea Cambiaso’s flick in the penalty box, utilizing a through ball from McKennie. 1-1!
Juve finally scored again in the 69th minute. The Bianconeri attacked again from the left and they succeeded in getting in a cross, which Atalanta’s defense failed to block. The ball rolling wildly in the penalty box was struck by Milik’s left foot. 2-1!
However, this advantage did not last long. In the 74th minute, Juventus’ goal was broken again. This time it was Koopmeiners’ low shot from inside the penalty box, after receiving a through ball from Djimsiti. 2-2!
The duel then became increasingly fierce. Both teams competed against each other. However, they were both unable to create clean opportunities.
In the end, no additional goals were scored. Juventus 2-2 Atalanta.
With this result, Juventus slipped to 3rd place with a score of 58 points. Meanwhile, Atalanta rose to 5th position and temporarily shifted AS Roma by collecting 47 points.
