Serie A Results: Epic Comeback, Milan Wins Over Verona

AC Milan managed to make an epic comeback or get up after falling behind when they beat Verona in the Italian League, Sunday (17/10).

In the match that was held at the San Siro, AC Milan was two goals behind from Verona.

Milan started the game very badly. They immediately trailed by one goal even though the game had only been running for seven minutes. Gianluca Caprari gave Verona the lead with a volley that took advantage of a pass from Miguel Veloso.

Conceded, the Rossoneri tried to catch up. They got a chance through Franck Kessie’s cross but failed to be greeted by Giroud.

In the 25th minute disaster struck Milan after Alessio Romagnoli made a handball in the forbidden area. As a result, the referee also awarded a penalty kick and it was executed well by Antonin Barak who directed the ball to the bottom corner of the goal.

After that, the Rossoneri continued to press Verona’s defense but none of the chances resulted in a goal. As a result, the score of 2-0 for Verona lasted until the first half whistle sounded.

After halftime, Verona immediately took the initiative to attack. Marco Faraoni had a shot at the Milan defense in the 47th minute though just wide of the goal.

Not to be outdone, Milan did not stop attacking and finally led to a goal in the 59th minute through Giroud. The French player welcomed a sweet pass from Rafael Leao with a hard header that ripped Verona’s goal.

Six minutes later, Giroud almost scored his second goal. But unfortunately his header was only thin over the crossbar which was guarded by Montipo.

In the 76th minute, the Rossoneri were awarded a penalty after Faraoni fouled Samu Castillejo. Then, Franck Kessie who was appointed as the executioner successfully did his job and made the position change to 2-2.

Three minutes later, Milan turned ahead 3-2. Because, Koray Gunter struck the ball into his own net after trying to anticipate a cross sent by Castillejo.

After taking the lead, the Rossoneri slowed down the tempo of the game to maintain the lead. As a result, until the long whistle sounded the score 3-2 did not change and Milan also managed to secure three points at the San Siro.

This victory makes Milan continue its positive trend after the previous match also won 3-2 over Atalanta in the Italian League.

This victory is also a positive capital for Milan to face Porto in the Champions League continued on 20 October.
