Shin Tae Yong ensured that three overseas players of the Indonesian National Team, Marselino Ferdinan, Pratama Arhan, Asnawi Mangkualam could join the 2024 AFF Cup squad.
This was revealed by Shin Tae Yong on the sidelines of the Indonesian National Team’s training at the Bali United Training Center, Gianyar, Friday (29/11). Shin Tae Yong stated that of the seven overseas players who were called, only four could be confirmed.
“The situation is not easy. Arhan, Asnawi, Marselino can still join. The rest of the players are not necessarily,” said Shin Tae Yong.
Only Ronaldo Kwateh, a player from the Thai club Muangthong United, an overseas player who has joined the Indonesian national team TC for the 2024 AFF Cup.

“Yes, I am very grateful, very happy, praise God that I can be trusted again after not being called for a long time. Hopefully I can maximize this opportunity,” said Ronaldo on the sidelines of the Indonesian National Team’s training in Bali, Friday (29/11).
With Marselino, Arhan, and Asnawi confirmed to be able to join, only two other players are doubtful to join. The two players are Justin Hubner and Ivar Jenner.
Especially for Rafael Struick, Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association Erick Thohir previously said that Brisbane Roar would only release the 21-year-old striker if the Indonesian Timans qualified from the knockout phase of the 2024 AFF Cup.
Shin Tae Yong is not too worried that Struick can only join in the semifinals. The reason is, the Indonesian National Team still has Hokky Caraka and other strikers.
“There is Hokky as well, so it’s no problem. And in the group stage, we must prepare well. But the situation is not easy because the opponent of the squad is the senior national team, while we are U-22,” said Shin Tae Yong.
Meanwhile, the Manager of the Indonesian National Team, Sumardji, admitted that there was already an arrival date for Arhan and Asnawi. As for Marselino, Sumardji said Erick Thohir was lobbying Oxford United.
